San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park

Last weekend Marc and I decided to finally make the trek to the Wild Animal Park. Of course we had to do it on one of the hottest days of the year. So we decided to go early and stay until we couldn't bear the heat any longer. All in all we were there for just under 2 hours. Good enough to get a feel for the place but definitely wanting to come back for more in the future, on a cooler day of course.

I have to admit the Wild Animal Park was not at all what I was expecting. I was hoping it would be large open areas that you were driven through to see the animals. Instead I got part zoo and part large open areas. The downside was that you have to pay extra to go through the large open areas, driving around them on a tram is part of your admission.



We saw quite a few animals and got in some good walking. Marc was almost walked over by a momma duck and her ducklings and I almost stepped on a goose. We definitely had a good time.
