Sunrise

Where we live in California we are bless to watch the sunset whenever we want. Well, whenever we want when it's not cloudy or foggy and Mother Nature plays along. So when we were on the East Coast we decided that at least for one morning we wanted to get up early to watch the sun rise. Little did I know that civil twilight, when it starts to get light in the morning, was at 4am and sun rise, when the sun rises above the horizon, was at 5am. It definitely made for an early morning. But I am so happy we went. Honestly it was quite possibly my favorite thing we did in Boothbay Harbor.

4:30 am, waiting for the sun to rise

Sun rise begins in the clouds

Then you see the sun actually rise.

I loved the way the light bounced off the water.

Lucky for us we had a bed waiting for us when we returned to the Inn. A 3 hour nap and then a homemade breakfast and we were ready for the rest of the day.
