Guía de conversacion

**DISCLAIMER: This is another entry in choppy Spanish. I took some liberties with the translation to make my point. Hopefully by the time I leave I will actually have the correct words to express what I have done for the day. Enjoy!**

Each day at two thirty, we meet up with our conversation guides. For two hours, we visit places in the city of puebla and chat. It´s very important for me because it is an opportunity to increase my speaking abilities. Last week my guide was Juan Carlos and this week my guide is Ceci. The two of them are friendly and know a lot about the places in Puebla. Also, they are both university students studying english.

Today, Ceci and I went to the Santa Rosa Convent. The life of the nuns is very interesting. I learned that the doors are low as an act of reverence. It´s necessary to lower your head in order to pass through the doorway. Also, I learned the reason for all the different bowls on the walls of the kitchen. It´s because the different dishes have distinct flavors and each bowl is for a specific dish so that the flavors don´t mix.

It was very interesting day although I am very tired because my family and I stayed up talking until midnight last night. Not uncommon in my household. So now, I think I am going to go back to my house, do my homework, eat dinner and get to bed early. Especially since tomorrow we have an excursion in the afternoon.

Great job with your Spanish! Your language ability is pretty darn good, and I can already see you improving. I can't wait to chat with you when you come back. :) ¡Feliz Día de la Independencia!
