This past weekend M and I took two of his friends down to La Jolla for some fresh air. It was our first time down to Torrey Pines and I have to say it is absolutely beautiful. There are loads of trails all around the coastal preserve, many of which have views of the ocean and coastline. The beginning part of the hike starts on the road but you can quickly leave the road to join the sandy trails. Not too much shade so going in the summer might be a little warm, but the weather this past weekend was just perfect; Sunny and warm with a slight coastal breeze. This only other downside was there were tons of people out and about on the trails including lots of children. So it's definitely not your secluded hiking spot.
To end the day we drove into La Jolla Village for some tacos and margaritas. I had rolled tacos, the others had fish tacos and we all shared some chips and guacamole. I have to say, there's nothing like watching the waves crash as you refuel.
